David Allen Lott

David Allen Lott, 82, passed away at home on Saturday, November 11, 2023, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Dave was born in Middletown, N.Y., to Everette Faye and Sarah (Weiland) Lott.

After graduating from Goshen Central High School in 1959, Dave began his military career at Griffis Air Force Base in Rome, N.Y. He served eight years in the Strategic Air Command and retired as a SSgt. He then worked in the computer industry and retired from Data General Corporation in 1995.

Dave and his wife, Allene, enjoyed retirement by traveling and playing golf together. They traveled to almost all the states in the U.S. and to twelve different countries, playing golf in many of them.

In his spare time, he perfected his woodworking skills and made beautiful furniture, cabinets and shelves. He opened Lott's Design in his garage and shared his gift with neighbors and friends.

Dave was predeceased by his parents; brother, Danny; and son, Jeffrey Ryan Lott. He is survived by his wife, Allene McGuire Lott; daughters, Cheryl Thomas (Marty), Toni Smith, and Christina Day (Jerry); his sisters, Alice Terwilliger and Peggy Longwell; grandchildren, Lindsey Lahmer, Kyler Thomas, Carolina and Ryan Lott, Crystal and Keith Valenta, and Aidan Smith; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Chase, and Brooke Lahmer.

The family will receive friends at The Heights Baptist Church, on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, where a service will take place at 2:00 PM. A reception will be held following the service. Interment will be private. Please make donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
