David Franklin Lucas, 74, of Dinwiddie, VA, died on July 1, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hazel Mayes Dickens and John H. Dickens. Married to his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Lucas, David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a local electrical contractor for 35 years before he retired, and was a member and past deacon, of Central Baptist Church. He was a member of FOE #822 and a past board member of Kenston Forrest School. In his spare time, David enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and coaching his children in sports. Along with his wife, David is survived by his daughter, Jody Cosley (Lyn); son, David “Bubba” F. Lucas, II. (Morgan); granddaughter, Crystal Cosley Franciscus (Brad); great grandson, Parker Upton Cole; sisters, Patricia Daddezio and Debbie Simmons and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 5, 2021 at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Southlawn Memorial Park.
