David Roland Marshall

David R. Marshall, 54, of Sutherland, VA went home to the Father with his Lord Jesus Christ, on Thursday, June 1, 2017. Born in Los Angeles County (Downey), CA he was the son of the late Shelby Jean Creech Marshall. A graduate of L.C. Bird H.S. (‘81), he was a member of the American Society of Naval Engineers, founder and President of Seal-Pro Technology Group, and rose to the distinguished title of Senior Regional Manager-Americas for Thordon Bearing of Canada culminating a 30 years career in the Fluid Technology Industry. An avid lover of aviation, he attained the rank of Cadet Lieutenant Colonel in Civil Air Patrol and earned Outstanding Virginia Cadet of the Year. He was Special Assistant(Aide) to the Commander of the Aviation Brigade of the Virginia State Guard/Militia. David was an avid fisherman and beach lover and called Myrtle Beach his second home. David was an Elder in the PC(USA) church. He is survived by his wife, Rose McDaniel of Dinwiddie; his son, Grayson Marshall of Prince George by his former wife, Robinette Marshall; his stepdaughter, Genvonna McDaniel of Dallas, Texas; his Father, Roland Marshall of Chester; his brother, Douglas Marshall and his wife Theresa of Chesapeake and their children Amanda Gatti, Blake Gatti, Chelsea Marshall, Daniel Marshall and grandson, Carter Oliver. Other surviving relatives include nephew Mitch Caudil, step-grandchildren through Rose: My-Kel McDaniel, Tristian McDaniel, Deashajne McDaniel, and great-granddaughter, Nicole “Toot” McDaniel, who he raised as his own. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 201 Walnut Blvd., Petersburg, VA 23805, with the Reverends Sarah and Dwight Nave, officiating. A private family interment will be held in Myrtle Beach at a later date. The family is being served by the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home.
