David Nelson Rhoten

David Nelson Rhoten, 70, of North Chesterfield, VA, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019. Born and raised in Castlewood, TN, he was the son of the late Paul Rhoten and Anna Lee Skeens Rhoten; and he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry, Carl and Lester Rhoten. After high school, he served in the USMC and served one tour in Vietnam. He was a member of Kingsland Baptist Church in Chesterfield, Va. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Nancy Virginia Rhoten; son, Ricky Lee Rhoten and wife, Melissa; daughter, Kathy Nicole DeWitt and husband, Chris; grandchildren, Brandon Powers and fiancée, Krystin; Ashley Powers, and Kyle Rhoten; great-grandchildren, Marley Newcomb, and Owen Lee Powers; brother, Larry Rhoten and wife, Sue; brother, Buddy Rhoten and wife, Janet; as well as numerous extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home at 3050 W. Hundred Rd., Chester, VA.
