David Roy Vernon

David Roy Vernon, 71, of North Chesterfield, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Born in Crew, Virginia, and raised in Toronto, Canada, he was the son of the late Wilson Warner and Margaret Delilah Carothers Vernon. Mr. Vernon was a proud diesel mechanic, he enjoyed playing pool, and was an avid NASCAR enthusiast. He is survived by his best friend and love of his life, Gloria R. Hall; three daughters, Susan Vernon, Shirley Patterson Versnick and her husband, David, and Shelly Wilson and her husband, Glen; five brothers, Robert Vernon, Larry Vernon and his wife, Audry, William Vernon and his wife, Lydia, Richard Vernon, and Ray Vernon and wife, Florence; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Shirley Mabee, Dorothy Watts, Mary Lou Kipp; and five great-grandchildren.
