Dawnette Thomas

Dawnette Baggett Thomas, 48, of Yale, Virginia, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 in Southside Regional Medical Center. She was born in Dorchester, MA. Mrs. Thomas was a scout leader for many years, a part of the Scout Reach Program and also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carol Scopa and Bob Fletcher. She is survived by her husband, Edward Thomas, a daughter, Kari Layell and husband, Kevin; five sons, Mark Baggett, Eddie Phelps, Erik Baggett, Keven Thomas, and Nikolas Thomas; four grandsons; one brother, James Scopa and numerous other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at 6 p.m. in the Hopewell chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home followed by visitation until 8:30 p.m. The Rev. Bruce Bevans will officiate.. Interment will be private .Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com .
