Delia Michael

Delia Cogbill Michael, 97, of Colonial Heights died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Colonial Heights Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Herbert and Pearl Chalkley Cogbill, her brother Winfree Cogbill and her husband, Willie Lee Michael. She is survived by her nieces Sally Shope and husband Bob of Oxford, North Carolina; Carol Landis of Columbia, South Carolina; a nephew Donald Michael of Bowie, Maryland; cousins Gertrude Hughes of Richmond and Marion Reichert of North Carolina; a special friend Kally McGeehan of Grapevine, Texas; and a special friend and caregiver Dorothy Baugh of Colonial Heights. Mrs. Michael was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church of Colonial Heights, and a member and past Matron of Alpha Chapter #1, Order of the Eastern Star, Petersburg. She was also a past member of the Crepe Myrtle Twig of Southside Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13th at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service with interment to follow in Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
