Dennis Roberts Deaner

Dennis Roberts Deaner, 75, of Chester, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Katherine Z. Deaner, parents Ira Cleon Deaner, Sr. and Elsie Deaner Finlayson and a brother Ira Cleon Deaner, Jr.. He graduated from Hopewell High School in 1959 and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia in 1965. He served as a former president of the Chester Jaycees, and throughout his adult life, was a dedicated fan of the UVA Cavaliers. He is survived by his children, Patrick Deaner, Lynne Blais, and Michael Deaner (Tommie); four grandchildren, Emily Blais, Jacob Blais, Elsie Deaner, and Josephine Deaner; and numerous extended family and friends. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Appomattox Cemetery in Hopewell. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Condolences may be registered at www.jtmorriss.com .
