Dennis Richard Sparks

Dennis Richard Sparks, 80, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022. Born in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late Dranan Sparks and Robnette Tomlin Brannan. Mr. Sparks was a United States Air Force veteran and had retired as City Manager from Luray, VA. He was a member of Powers Memorial Baptist Church in Hopewell. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Moreau Sparks; one stepson, Randy Begel; three brothers, Jasper "Jack" Brannan, Jr. (Karen), Hubert W. Brannan (Karen) and Dranan Sparks (Eileen); two sisters, Bonnie Pitts (Dinky) and Becky Hunley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. The family is being served by the J.T.
