Dewey Stevens Hancock, Jr., 78, of Colonial Heights died Sunday, November 6, 2005. Mr. Hancock was born in Hopewell, VA and was a former resident of Prince George County. He was a retired Maintenance Superintendent at Smurfit-Stone, a member of First Christian Church and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Hancock is the son of the late Dewey S. and Frances Thompson Hancock. He is survived by his wife, Virginia H. Hancock of Colonial Heights, a son Keythe Hancock and wife, Cynthia, of Prince George, two daughters, Sharon H. Vaughn of Chester, and Kimberly H. Blake and husband, Donald, of Colonial Heights, a brother Frank H. Hancock of Jonesboro, GA; seven grandchildren Chad, Brian, Steven, Shane, Chris, Ray and Houston, and five great-grandchildren Olivia, Bradley, Christian, Brian and Dana.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 8, 2005 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss and Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held
Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at 10 a.m. at Appomattox Cemetery, with Bob Lane, associate Pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.
