Donald Cleere

Donald Cleere, 86, of Chester, passed peacefully on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. He was born in Franklin County, Alabama, to the late Euclid and Pearl Cleere. He resided in both Hopewell and Chester, Virginia the majority of his life, graduating from Thomas Dale High School. He was a HVAC mechanic and retired from Honeywell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Cleere; brother, Jack Cleere; and niece, Lynda Kyle. From telling jokes to pulling pranks, Donald enjoyed making those around him laugh. He will be best remembered for his quick wit and making people smile. He is survived by his nephew, Jack Cutchin; niece, Alecia Chiarky (Dennis); great-nephews, Sonny Kyle (Jessie), Jason Cutchin (Megan), and Travis Cutchin; great-nieces, Ann Marie Bates (Josh) and Krista Sauls (Jody); a host of other great-greats including Colbie Kyle, Benny Sauls, and Kyle Sauls. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home (3050 W Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23831), with funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private at Sunset Memorial Park.
