Donald Lee Cox

Donald Lee “Donnie” Cox, 61, of Hopewell, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Friday, January 27, 2017. He was the son of the late Thomas Cox and Goldie Bonds Cox and was also preceded in death by his sister, Dreama Cox Bell. Donnie was a faithful and active member of Enon Church of God. He was a member of the Pastor’s Council and the Board of Trustees. Donnie was employed with Hercules for many years and later retired from the Chester Allied-Signal (Honeywell). He had a passion for carpentry and enjoyed wood working. He was a selfless man, always helping others before himself. Donnie is survived by his wife, Ruby Nichols Cox; daughters, Catherine Lowry (Mark), and Patricia Kubler (Daniel); granddaughter, Meagan Lowry; brothers, Ronald Cox and Ricky Cox; sisters, Iva Marlik and Linda Wray; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best friend and brother-in-law, Rev. Barry Ashbrook. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Enon Church of God, 900 Enon Church Rd., Chester, VA 23836. A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Bryan Ogle at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the church. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
