Donald Lee Dalton, 73, of Disputanta died Friday, February 18, 2005 in John Randolph Medical Center. He was born in Pulaski, VA and was the son of the late Robert Lee and Dora King Dalton. He was a decorated U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War serving in the 17th Infantry as a medic and receiving the Bronze Star, Silver Star and Purple Heart. He was a retired building contractor and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and Bensley-Bermuda Rescue Squad. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lorene Dalton; daughter, Catherine Dalton of Pulaski; son, Dennis Dalton and his wife, Karen of Prince George; four brothers, Harold ?Cookie? Dalton, Wayne Dalton and his wife, Joyce, Jerry Dalton and his wife, Sharon and Freddie Dalton all of Draper, VA; two sisters, Jan Tana Puzzo of Texas and Joyce Coffey of Tenn.; two grandsons, Harry ?Bubba? Shaw III and his wife, Leigh of Chester and Christopher L. Shaw and his wife, Tina of Draper, VA; five great-grandchildren; and a former son-in-law, Johnny ?Bones? Elmore of Pulaski. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with the Pastor Doug Forrester and Associate Pastor Bev Nelan officiating. Burial will follow in Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Burrowsville Vol. Fire Department or the Prince George Emergency Crew.
