Donald Lee Ellis

Donald Lee Ellis, 59, of Hopewell passed away to be with his Lord after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, February 23, 2014. Born in Hopewell, he was the son of the late Leon Devaney Ellis, Jr. and Pauline Ann Temple Ellis and was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Temple Ellis. Donald worked as a carpenter, enjoyed fishing, drawing, science, helping others and had a very strong faith in God. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his brother, Kenneth Wayne Ellis and his fiancé, Melinda Bell; sisters, Deborah Murphy, Barbara Lemay and her husband, James; nieces, Stephanie Nicole Ellis, Michelle Bishop, Kimberly Parker; close friends, Ramona Douglas, Larry Hamilton and other extended family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Interment will be private.
