Donald Page Harris

Mr. Donald Page Harris, 86, of Petersburg passed away Friday, February 16, 2018, after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel W. Harris and Mabel M. Harris; two brothers, Richard (Billy) Harris, Joel Walker Harris Jr. (Jack); and three sisters, Frances Stanley, Kathleen Barnes, and Jo Anne Carelock. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Maria (Mary Lou) Harris and daughter Rose Mary (Rosie) Harris. He was a four-year veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Honeywell, Inc. after thirty-five years of service. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 0284 Colonial Heights, VA. He enjoyed helping others and rescuing homeless animals to include his four cats that he loved, Fluffy, Willie, Daisy, and Nemo. The family will receive friends at the Petersburg J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at the Southlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local SPCA or your favorite charity.
