Donald Hughes

Donald J. Hughes, 65, of Chester died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at Southside Regional Medical Center from a long illness. He was born in Portsmouth, VA and resided in Chester for the last 60 years. Mr. Hughes was the son of the late Alfred and Mary Hughes. He was a loving husband and father. He retired as a supervisor from Honeywell and was a longtime member of the Springcreek Hunt Club. He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey Fick Hughes; two sons, Richard L. Hughes (Karen) of Chesterfield and Kenneth J. Hughes (Mandi) of Gasburg; one daughter, Karen E. Hughes of Dinwiddie; four grandchildren, four step grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Pendleton of Chesterfield and Donna Ledbetter (Jerry) of Ashland; several brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Chesterfield Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
