Donald Hughes

Mr. Donald Craig Hughes, 53, passed away at his residence in Sapulpa, Oklahoma,April 3, 2004 following a brief illness. He was a native of Petersburg, Virginia and was the son of the late, William T. “Billy” and Rachel Barricks Hughes, Jr. Mr. Hughes served in the United States Navy and at his passing was a floral designer for Country Florist at Sapulpa. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Eddie Hughes, David Hughes and Mac Hughes. Mr. Hughes is survived by two sisters, Patricia H. Pugh and Louise H. Childs both of Colonial Heights; two brothers, William Marshall Hughes of Bouie, Md. and Gene T. “Tommy” Hughes of Sussex Co.; two aunts; eight nephews; six nieces; twenty-four great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday April 13, 2004 2:00 P.M. at the graveside in Blandford Cemetery with Dr. W. Rand Forder pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Memorials may be made to the SPCA Of Petersburg & Colonial Heights, Inc., 1906 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Va.,23834. Mr. Hughes family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
