Donna Lynn (Martin) Hinkle, surrounded by family and friends, went to be with the Lord on April 25, 2024. She leaves behind her grandsons, Andrew Hinkle and Jake Alley (KC Erny); and great-grandsons, Haden, Bennet, Jase, and Carter Banks; great-granddaughter, Skyler; and sister, Sandy (Martin) Young; with lots of nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her greatly.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Hinkle; father, Dillard Martin; mother, Gertrude (Buckland) Martin; brother, Phillip Martin; sister, Sharon (Martin) Matheny; and Linda Woodson, her dearest cousin.
Donna was born in Kimberly, West Virginia, on August 23, 1944. She graduated from Montgomery High School in 1962, and eventually moved to the Richmond area where she lived until her death. She retired from the State of Virginia then worked at Crawford Insurance.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to Donna's friends who were her "posse" providing hours of fun, rides to doctors, and great friendship until the end. There were many, but special thanks to Mimi, Barbara, and Susan. Thanks also to Lynsey Alley for being there and helping as she could.
We would like to thank Donna's doctors and nurses while she was in the various hospitals and hospice care while at home.
Arrangements will be held as follows, a public visitation will be held Tuesday, April, 30, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, at Kingsland Baptist Church, 8801 Perrymont Rd, Richmond, VA 23237, with a Funeral Service starting at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 2901 W Hundred Rd, Chester, VA 23831. The family is being served by the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
