Donna Mae Moore

Moore, Donna Mae Snodgrass, began her life in heaven on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the age of 86. Born February 14, 1937 in Elkview, WV, she and her cherished husband John Wayne Moore moved to Chester, Virginia in early 1969. Donna was a woman of faith and had the assurance of Eternal Life. She had been a Baptist since the age of 12 and had served for years in many capacities of church service. Donna retired from Chesterfield County Public Schools and enjoyed gardening, flower arranging, reading, oil painting, calligraphy, quilting, scrapbooking, and music. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Oreta Snodgrass, both formerly of Elkview and Hurricane, WV; as well as her husband, John Wayne Moore, to whom she was married for 58 years. If you had asked Wayne how long he had been married to Donna, he would always answer with a grin, "all my life," as they were high school sweethearts and members of the same church. Donna is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Wayne Moore (companion, Anne Renee Johnson) and Steven Wade Moore; her beloved grandchildren, Sgt. Joshua Wayne Moore USM (Ashlyn), Brittany Nicole Moore, Logan Nicole Simpson (Will), Mitchell Thomas Moore, and Justin Mark Crews; six great grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Anna Fay Jack (William T) of Clendenin, WV and Mrs. Betty L. Marion of Marion, WV; sister-in-law, Mrs. Frances Colleen Moore Morrison of Chester, VA; and other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 AM at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Chester, 3050 West Hundred Road, where a graveside service will take place at 11:30 AM at Bermuda Memorial Park, 1901 Bermuda Hundred Road.
