Donna Caywood Orr

Donna Marie Elizabeth Caywood Orr died on Easter Sunday, March 27th, 2016. Preceded in death by her husband George S. Orr; parents Roy Caywood and Audrey Burns Caywood; brother Roy and sister-in-law Nancy Caywood. She is survived by loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends. Donna and George moved to Hopewell in 1956 after having graduated from Western Kentucky State College. She taught school at Hopewell High School and ended her career as assistant principal. She was active in school activities among them being sponsor for the school cheerleaders. She was a long time member of the Hopewell Junior Women’s Club and served as president. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church until she and her husband moved to Chesterfield. She was a long-time volunteer at Historic Hopewell Foundation and served on the Board of Trustees for several years. She especially enjoyed being a docent at Weston Manor. Hobbies were gardening, needlework, reading and researching genealogy for family, friends and the DAR. She enjoyed traveling and treasured the memories of her trips with her long time and dear friend, Jane McCullen. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on June 15 at 4:00 PM at Weston Manor for Donna.
