Doris Ruth Bigham

Doris Ruth Bigham, 94, of Petersburg passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Born in Neisse, Germany on September 24, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Annemarie Ittner, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Hall W. Bigham. She was a German war bride, having married the love of her life in July of 1953, then moving with him to the United States of America shortly after. After over 30 years of dedicated service as an accountant, she retired from the NCO Club at Fort Lee. Doris and her husband enjoyed weekend trips, going fishing, spending time with their friends, and was an enthusiastic Bingo player. She loved entertaining guests and always had food prepared for anyone that stopped by to visit. Doris would like to thank all of her wonderful neighbors for keeping an eye on her and checking in on her daily for all these years. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Ojediran and his wonderful staff for their extraordinary care of Doris throughout the years. Inurnment will take place in the family cemetery in North Carolina at a later date.
