She is also preceded in death by her husband John William Elmore Sr.; her son, John William Elmore Jr.; three brothers, Joseph Wells, Franklin Wells and Carlton Wells; and also her sister, Mary (Wells) Ford. She is survived by her sons, Robert Franklin Elmore and wife, Pamela, Timothy Lee Elmore and wife, Carin; and her daughter, Susan Annette (Elmore) Brooks and husband, Wayne. She had grandchildren that loved her very much and made her a part of their life; to them she was Nanny, Jon, Chastity, Timothy, William; and great-grandchildren, Madison, Alexander, Emma, Gavin, Allyson, Abby, Ava and Easton. She was born in Dinwiddie (Sutherland) Virginia and grew up with her brothers and sister in a farming community. She lived a simple clean life where nothing was more important to her than her family and her church. She attended Ocran United Methodist Church her entire life beginning as an infant and becoming a member as a young child. Mom loved to surround herself with colorful things that reminded her of days on the farm and the seasons of the year, she celebrated each season and special occasion with a purpose. She loved fresh vegetables from the garden, strawberry cake in the spring and fruitcake at Christmas, if she said it once she said it a thousand times “Virginia is the garden spot of the world and I never want to live anywhere else”. She lived a long full life and felt compassion for all people she dearly loved her family and her extended church family. Special thanks to Ocran Church for their fellowship and heart felt message of prayer, mom cherished the time she spent with her church family. Also Special thanks to Care Advantage for the professional service that they provided our mother, they were truly compassionate and always knew what to do to make mom as comfortable as possible, for that we will be forever grateful. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Ocran United Methodist Church with the Reverend Larry House, officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the church.
