Doris Green Garyantes

Doris Green Garyantes, 89, of Petersburg, Virginia, entered eternal peace Friday, July 28, 2023. She was born and raised in Delaware.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Katie Green; her husband, Richard "Pop" Garyantes; her daughter, Linda Lou Bruce; and nine siblings.

She is survived by her daughters, Janet Braddy and Terri Beasley; son, Richard Garyantes, Jr. (Laura); grandchildren, Matthew Lewis, Garrett Braddy, Samuel Vick, Beth Braddy, Jordan Beasley; great-grandchildren, Elliott Braddy, Emmett Braddy, Alyssa Henley, and Amarie Henley, Amiya Henley, Skyler Lewis, Brendon Lewis, and Samantha Vick; and several nieces and nephews.

Doris will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Doris enjoyed ten pin bowling and had many bowling friends. She was a wonderful cook. She loved to be out in the sun and enjoyed taking care of her yard. She always was there to help anyone with anything and never knew a stranger. She was an active member of City Point Restoration Church in Hopewell, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 6-8 pm, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 820 W Broadway Avenue, Hopewell, Virginia 23860. A funeral service will be conducted August 11, 2023, at 10 am, at the funeral home, followed by interment at Bermuda Memorial Park, 1901 Bermuda Hundred Road, Chester, VA 23836. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the City Point Restoration Church in memory of Doris Garyantes.
