Doris Hatchell Gray

Doris Hatchell Gray, 88, of Petersburg, passed away on March 26, 2015. Born in Buffalo, NY she was the daughter of the late Robert Bernard Hatchell, a fallen Petersburg Police Officer, and Berta Loving Hatchell; and was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Albert Edward Gray; and by two sisters, Audrey Beatrice Hatchell and Barbara Hatchell Waldvogel. Mrs. Gray was a life long member of First Assembly of God Church in Petersburg where she held numerous positions in the church. She was a retired secretary from the Petersburg City School System. Mrs. Gray is survived by her four daughters, Brenda G. Musselwhite, Barbara G. Ivey and husband, Troy, Lydia G. Ivey, and Jewel G. Flegal and husband, Dan; one son, Samuel E. Gray and wife, Bonnie; five grandchildren, Harrison, Alexandra, Victoria, Jason and April; seventeen great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert L. Hatchell and wife, Heidi of Minneapolis, MN; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 2015 in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George, VA.
