Doris B Harrison-Hobart

Doris Brummett Harrison-Hobart, 86, of Chester VA, passed away peacefully in her home, on Friday, November 5th, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Trula Sproles Brummett; her first husband, Willard Nelson Harrison; her second husband, Joe Hobart; sisters, Betty Houston, and Shelby Brummett. Doris retired from John Tyler Community College as a librarian clerk after 10 plus years. She also retired from Columbia Gas after 10 plus years of service. Doris volunteered for Westmoreland County Social Services and was President of the Northern Neck Hospice Association. She was a longtime member of Chester Baptist Church and was part of the “Joy” Sunday School Class. Doris is survived by her children, Gary N. Harrison (Wanda), Pamela Kaye Mays (Robert), Kathy Lynn Phillips; grandchildren, Andy, Katie (Jason), Jeffrey, Justin, Emily, Spencer, Ben; great grandchildren, Caleb, Isaac, Paisley; sister, Louella Cline; beloved pet and loving companion, Billy. Numerous other extended family and friends. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to her special caregivers; Rose Swann-Mamak and Ellen Gilliam. A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, November 12, 2021 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one-hour prior at the funeral home.
