Doris Schwartz

Doris Janet Schwartz died July 7, 2009. Mrs. Schwartz was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Sherwin, her husband, Dr. Julius L. Schwartz, and her son, Mr. Eric W. Schwartz. She was a psychologist, having worked in private practice and for the Petersburg Public schools, a teacher, and a nurse. She was active in community affairs, and numerous organizations including the Virginia Academy of School Psychologists, the Federated Womenâ??s Club of Petersburg, and the American Association of University Women. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother and is survived by her daughter Ms. Melanie R. Smith. A memorial service will be held at Christ and Grace Episcopal Church in Petersburg, VA on August 11, 2009 at 1PM followed by a reception at the church.
