Doris Wilson Westerholm

Doris Wilson Westerholm of Hopewell, VA , passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the age of 77. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Westerholm; and her parents, William Edgar and Alice Rouse Wilson. Doris was a lifelong resident of Hopewell, VA. She was a majorette for the H.H.S. Blue Devil marching band. She earned her bachelors from Mars Hill College in North Carolina and graduated nursing school at Johnston Willis School of Nursing. Her passions included restoring antique clocks and ceramics. Every Christmas we would receive an ornament that she had made. After retiring from Allied Chemical she was very involved with the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors Inc., Old Dominion Chapter No. 34, where she served as past treasurer. She is survived by her daughters, Lori Westerholm and Susan Gill (Bobby) of Hopewell, VA; her sons, William Westerholm of Richmond, VA and Christopher Westerholm (Jolanta) of Asheville, NC; five grandchildren, Perrin, Kayla, Alec, Candice and Dani; three great-granchildren, Sarah, Kole and Kinlee; her beloved Miniature Schnauzer, Maxwell; and many relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., on Monday, December 26, 2016. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crater Community Hospice, 3916 S.
