Dorothy Blanche Baker, 80, of Hopewell, died Sunday, November 20, 2005 at John Randolph Medical Center. Mrs. Baker was born in Sampson County, NC and was a former resident of Woodlawn Street. She was a retired clerk with Allied Chemical Corporation and a retired cashier with A & P. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter B and Gladys Wray Brinkley, her first husband, Willard E. Vaughan, her second husband, John R. Baker and a brother, Bobby Lee Brinkley. Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Vaughan England and husband, John W. , two grandchildren, Tammie E. Bryant and husband, Gregory and Shawn E. England, two great- grandchildren Dale Bryant & Ashby Bryant, a brother Alfred M. Brinkley and wife, Peggy, all of Chester, a sister, Mary Ann Ingram and husband, Riley E., of Hopewell, an aunt, Naomi Brinkley, of Tiverton, Rhode Island and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Lewis Brown of the Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George County. Condolences may be registered with www.jtmorriss.com
