Dorothy Blanche Baker, 80, of Hopewell, died Sunday, November 20, 2005 at John Randolph Medical Center. Mrs. Baker was born in Sampson County, NC and was a former resident of Woodlawn Street. She was a retired clerk with Allied Chemical Corporation and a retired cashier with A & P. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter B and Gladys Wray Brinkley, her first husband, Willard E. Vaughan, her second husband, John R. Baker and a brother, Bobby Lee Brinkley. Survivors include a daughter, Pamela Vaughan England and husband, John W. , two grandchildren, Tammie E. Bryant and husband, Gregory and Shawn E. England, two great- grandchildren Dale Bryant & Ashby Bryant, a brother Alfred M. Brinkley and wife, Peggy, all of Chester, a sister, Mary Ann Ingram and husband, Riley E., of Hopewell, an aunt, Naomi Brinkley, of Tiverton, Rhode Island and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Lewis Brown of the Church of the Nazarene, officiating.
