Dorothy Motes Bane

Dorothy M. Bane, 87, of Chester, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Bessie Burger. She was preceded in death by her three sons, Harry Coleman, Ernest Lee and Jerry and also a grandson Matthew Hill .Dorothy worked for Allied Chemical for many years. She was an avid gardener and was also a very creative artist. She is survived by her five daughters Jamie Winner (John P), Judy Taylor (Walter) Joyce Hill (Lloyd), Janet Bane and April Norris (Craig). Son John C. Grandchildren, Christine Winner ,Laura Hall, Michael Winner,Becky Taylor, Kenny Hill, Christi Arehart,Stephanie Greene and David Winner .Great-grandchildren , Ashlie Lessard , Zinna Patteson, Sean Lessard, Lillie Patteson ,Ryan Ashley ,Raleigh Norris, Danielle Winner, Luke Winner and Aidan Arehart and also numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A service will be held at Western Heights Baptist Church in Petersburg on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Chester, VA.
