Dorothy â??Paulineâ? Lowery Cairns, 69, of Dinwiddie County, passed peacefully to go home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at Chippenham Medical Center Monday, March 24, 2008. She was surrounded by her loving family and Pastor Rodney Jenkins as she made her final journey home. Pauline was born in Halifax County the daughter of the late Joseph Owen Lowery and Dorothy Mae Griffin Lowery. She moved to Petersburg in 1952 and was a loyal and faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Pauline will always be remembered as a woman with a kind and gentle spirit who always thought of others first and herself last She had a kind and loving smile that reflected her loving heart, which endeared her to everyone she met. Surviving are her loving husband of 49 years, Thomas Odell Cairns (known as Tom Cairns owner of T.O. Cairns Tractor Company); a brother Charlie G. Lowery, Sr. and wife Ann; nephew Charlie G. Lowery, Jr. and wife Wendy; Paulineâ??s niece, Savannah Rey Lowery â??Little Sugarâ?, who was like a granddaughter. The family will receive friends Wednesday night March 26th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service Petersburg Chapel where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday with Pastor Rodney Jenkins officiating.
