Dorothy Carter

Dorothy H. Carter, 87, of Petersburg, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Carter was a native of Dinwiddie Co. and was predeceased by her parents, Rosser Boswell and Maggie Sledd Hawks, & two sons, Gary L. & Thomas E. Carter. She was a retired Civil Service employee of Fort Lee and a member of Garyâ??s United Methodist Church since 1960. She is survived by her son, David L. Warren, Jr. and wife, Phyllis of Prince George; daughter, Peggy W. Akins and husband, Richard of Arcadia, FL.; five grandchildren, Cheryl Akins, Robin Gutierrez, Michael Akins, Staci Warren and David Warren, III, & six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T .Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Sunday January 17, 2010. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 18, 2010, 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Southlawn Memorial Park.
