Dorothy Campbell Emory, 94, of Petersburg, widow of Robert Lee Emory, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Emma Muse Campbell. Despite being poor when she was younger; she was rich by the love her mother gave her, she loved birds, flowers and people. Dorothy was a longtime member of Washington Street United Methodist Church, Womenâ??s Federated Club; also employed with Rucker Rosenstock in the shoe department for many years. She is survived by her four nieces, June Beninghove and husband, Pee Wee, Mary Ann Magee and husband, Bob, Gail McGhee and husband, Freddie and Emily Grunwell and husband, Bruce; four nephews, Linwood Campbell and wife, Brenda, Robert Campbell and wife, Linda, Donnie Campbell and wife, Gail, and Bernard Campbell and wife, Pat; numerous other nieces and nephews; one special friend, Ray Carr. Graveside services will be conducted 11 am Friday, February 3, 2012 at Blandford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The staff of Petersburg Home for Ladies took extraordinarily loving care of Dorothy during her last years.
