Dorothy Grigg

Dorothy Adkins Grigg, age 83, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2009. She was born in Matoaca, Virginia, daughter of the late Richard and Elsie Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John L. Grigg and brothers, Percy and Hubert Adkins. Mrs. Grigg was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a former resident of Colonial Heights, and was currently residing at Brighter Living in Hopewell. She was also a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Mrs. Grigg is survived by her daughter, Donna Burton of Chester; son, Warren Grigg of Chester; grandson, Greg Burton of Chester; sister, Ruth Aldridge of Chesapeake; and brothers, James Adkins of Prince George and Curtis Adkins of Dinwiddie. The family will receive friends at the Chesterfield chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with interment following in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George.
