Dorothy P. Jines, 79 of Dinwiddie, died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late John E. and Mamie Gregory Ruble. She was the widow of Chester L. Jines. Dorothy was a lifelong member of Chester Baptist Church, taught Sunday school, worked in nursery, worked closely with the girls in action. Loved to garden and was continuously working in the yard. She is survived by her sons, Harry L. Jines, Jr. and wife, Judy of Dinwiddie and Harry L. Jines, Sr. of Richmond; daughter, Shelly P. Palmer and husband, George of Dinwiddie; eight grandchildren, Chelsea Jones and fiancee, Sean Whitt, Andrew and Justin Palmer all of Dinwiddie, Kayla Swinson and husband, Boyd of Chester, Susan Snyder and fiancee, Mike Cook of Varina, Jerry Smith of Crewe and Joey Snyder of Luray; six great-grandchildren, Austin Snyder of Dinwiddie, Miranda Stevens of Varina, Christopher Smith, Autumn Smith, Madison Smith all of Crewe, and Maria Snyder of Luray. Va.; sister, Shirley Summers and husband, Earl; nephew, Russell Summers and wife, Anita of Live Oak, FL; two great-nieces, Sara and Christen Summers both of Live Oak, FL. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 pm Monday, April 28, 2008 at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm Sunday at the Chesterfield Chapel of J.T.
