Dorothy White Jones

DOROTHY WHITE HELTON JONES, age 94, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2017 after a long illness. Dot was born in Hartselle, AL on Nov. 19, 1922, last of the 11 children of James W. and Berta Bennett White. She was preceded in death by Jesse Lee Helton, Jr. after 30 years of marriage. They made loving Christian homes in Nashville, TN, Arlington, VA and New Orleans, LA. She was blessed to have a second loving husband, Morgan L. "Jack" Jones for 32 years, who preceded her in death in 2008. They were members of Central Park Baptist Church in Decatur. She is survived by her sons, Gary Helton (Ellen) of Chester, VA, Mark Helton (Gwyn) of Kenner, LA; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; step-daughter, Peggy Bradt (Gary) of Greensboro, NC; step-son, Mike Jones of Tallahassee, FL and 3 step-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 3050 W. Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia 23831.
