Dorothy Jean Lampley

Dorothy Jean Lampley, 90, went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2024. She was born to the late Eugene and Ethel Anderson in Chattanooga, TN. She pursued and obtained a BA in Education from the University of Tennessee. She taught at Hall's HS in Knoxville, TN, and at Thomas Dale HS in Chester, VA. She was devoted to her husband and family as well as her Lord. She loved to attend her Bible study, garden, read, play bridge, go swimming, and she loved to be on the family farm and at the lake. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 and a half years, George Milton Lampley; her daughters, Mary Georjean Lampley and Laurie Sue Lampley; her son-in-law, Michael Kevin Thompson; her granddaughters, Heather Marie and Olivia Jean Thompson; and her sister, Mary Frances Jones. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, on Friday, May 10, 2024, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
