Dorothy Leftwich

Dorothy Wells Leftwich, 84, a life long resident of Dinwiddie passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2008. She was a charter member of Kenwood United Methodist Church and was employed by the Agricultural Department in Dinwiddie for 25 years. After retirement, Dorothy owned and operated Country Crafts in Dinwiddie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard T. and Effie Tucker Wells; husband, Thomas J. Leftwich and her brothers, Thomas Earl Wells and Oscar Wells. Dorothy is survived by her son, Herman D. Leftwich, Sr.; grandson, Herman D. â??Deeâ? Leftwich, Jr.; brother, Bernard W. Wells and his wife, Carolyn; sister, Phyllis B. Wells and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm at Kenwood United Methodist Church on Monday, January 5, 2009. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Blandford Cemetery. The family is being served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T.
