Dorothy Peffer Pollock

Dorothy Ann Peffer Pollock, born Sept. 15, 1940, passed into glory Thursday, March 21, 2013. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Pearl and “John L.” Peffer, sisters, Virginia P. Schiffler and Irene P. Scott, and husband Robert Pollock. Dorothy graduated class of ’58 of Surry County High School, salutavictorian and president of her class. Her past ministries for the Lord have been Bible Reading and Prayer for residents of Waverly Health Care Center, a teacher of 5 year olds in Bible School, writing gospel songs, singing and playing guitar in her church. Left to cherish her memory are her step-daughter, Brenda P. Morris and husband, Robert “Bobby” T. Morris, Jr.; granddaughter, Rachel M. Chieppa and husband, Jeff; step-son, John R. Pollock and wife, Pam; step-granddaughter, Jessica Pollock; grandchildren, John R. Pollock, Jr. and wife, Jan; great-grandson, Justin; granddaughter, Stacey P. Carmichael and husband, Alan; great-granddaughter, Miranda; son, David A. Pollock and wife, Robin; granddaughter, Shannon P. Mooring and husband, Kyle; great-grandson, Lucas Kyle; daughter, Robin Ann Pollock Crawford; and former son-in-law, Garry Crawford; special friends, Teresa Richard, Amanda Burks, Corbin Burks, Val Kipper, and Marianna Montgomery; her church family of Faith Baptist Church; and her kitten, Jingles. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at Faith Baptist Church, Waverly, VA with a burial in Waverly Cemetery.
