Dorothy "Dot" Dodson Puryear

Dorothy “Dot” Dodson Puryear, 97, of Charlotte County, VA, passed away on August 8, 2021. She was married for 45 years to Edward Jones Puryear, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Edward Puryear, Maria Bruno (Larry), Yvonne Pizzie (Joe), and Richard Puryear (Katie); 8 grandchildren, Lee Resnick (Lisa), Jeffrey Resnick (Jessica), Chris Puryear (Sara), PJ Puryear (Ashley), Rachel Pizzie, Marnie Warner (Marc), Scott Bruno, and Chad Bruno (Jamie); 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dot was a devoted mother and a member of Second Baptist Church in Petersburg, VA. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 13 from 7-9 PM at J.T. Morriss & Son – Petersburg, 103 S. Adams Street. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 14 at 10 AM at Second Baptist Church, 3355 Johnson Road, Petersburg, with interment to follow at Dale Memorial Park at 12 PM.
