Dorothy Abbott Showers

Dorothy Abbott Showers, 95, of Chester, VA, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 25, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd, and Mary Howells; her son, Kim Showers; and her loving husband of over 65 years, Calvin C. Showers. She is survived by her daughter, Kellie Benton and husband, Benjamin; grandchildren, Matthew Mrus and wife, Kristin, Michael Mrus, Kary Showers, and Krystal Mante and husband, Joe; great-grandchildren, Nolan Mrus, Rayven Kiser, and Joe Mante; daughter-in-law, Karen Showers; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Dorothy and Calvin were resident's in the Myrtle Beach area for more than 30 years. They owned and operated Mister Donut Shop in Surfside Beach, S.C., for many years. Dorothy was a longtime member of St. Paul's Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Pawley's Isalnd, S.C. A service will be held at a later date at St. Paul's Waccamaw UMC Cemetery.
