Dorothy Grey Slusser

Dorothy Grey Slusser, 89, of Prince George, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. Born in Tarboro, NC, she was the daughter of the late, Rufus Jesse Johnson, Jr. and Letha Lee Moye Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mack Slusser; grandson, Earl Thomas Newton, Jr.; brothers, Earl, JR, Ben, and Lee Johnson; sister, Virginia Hayes; and son-in-law, Earl Thomas Newton, Sr.
She is survived by her children, Donna Newton, Michael Slusser (Laura), Wanda Mullens, Sharon Slusser (Jerry), and Debby Grissom (Jamie); grandchildren, Wes Mullens, Matthew Mullens, Russell Mullens, Jared Slusser (Mary), Evan Slusser (Sydney), Molly Myers (Will), Cory Timperio, Mallory Grissom (Jonathan), and Morgan Grissom; great-grandchildren, Lily Timperio, Carson Jarrett, June Slusser, and Ethan Slusser; sisters, Joyce Pettey and Barbara Lackey (John); and brother, Gene Johnson.
Dorothy was a homemaker and was passionate when it came to taking care of her family. She worked part time, as a bus driver, for Hopewell City and Prince George County Public Schools for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling and playing cards. She was also a member of Faith Baptist Church in Prince George. She is loved and will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Bermuda Memorial Park.
