Dorothy Ellen Naugle Strosnider

Dorothy Ellen Naugle Strosnider passed from this life on February 15th, 2018.at the age of 95. Born and raised on a dairy farm in Pennsylvania, she became a nurse and worked at a hospital in Maryland when she met and Married Ervin F Strosnider in 1947. They had four children while living in Maryland and in 1966 the family moved to Hopewell, Virginia where Ervin purchased the Chevrolet dealership in town. Having loved the Lord from her youth, she and her family served and worshiped with the Church of Christ at 4th and Cawsons streets in Hopewell. Several years after Ervin’s passing, she moved in with her youngest son and daughter-in-law and began serving along with her family at the Cameron Avenue Church of Christ in Colonial Heights. In her last few years, she became a resident of Dunlop House and then Sunflower Gardens until her passing. She is survived by two sisters and a brother, Leah Burns of Arlington, VA, Janet Horton (Larry) of Port Orange, FL, and Harry C. Naugle Jr. (Bette) of Santa Maria, CA, as well as a sister-in-law, Shirley Olsen (Larry) of Prescott, AZ. Also by her four children, Beverly Morton (Gene) of Murfreesboro, TN, Pamela Conrad of Smithfield, NC, Craig Strosnider of Hopewell and Chris Strosnider (Janie) of Prince George and her ten grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. Her earthly and church families are comforted by knowing she is living victoriously because she put her hope and trust in Jesus. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday February 20th, 2018 at the J.T. Morriss Funeral home in Hopewell. A funeral service will be held at the Cameron Avenue Church of Christ on Wednesday the 21st at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Merchants Hope Memorial Gardens in Prince George and a luncheon for friends and family will follow at the Hopewell Church of Christ.
