Dorothy K. Winn

Dorothy K. Winn was born on April 24, 1928 and died on January 21, 2021. She is survived by five children. Daughters – Eileen Smith (Rob), Kathy Johnson (Keith) – Sons - Michael Keavy, Stephen Keavy (Tina) and David Keavy (Terri). Daughter in-laws Cat Keavy and Jan Keavy.
Four Stepchildren – Carol Winn, George Winn (Bonnie), Alvin Winn (Dianne) and Roy Winn (Nadine).
Nine Grandchildren – Jenny Olsen (Justin), Paul Keavy (deceased), Matt Keavy (Moon), Amanda Slate (Chuck), Keith Johnson (Abby), Kelly Schrinel (Jason), Melissa Rather, Crystal Mathis, and Raymond Mathis.
Twelve Great Grandchildren – Eliza, Carter and Taylor Olsen, Landon and Bryson Slate, Caroline Johnson, Logan Keavy, Trey Phillips, Alie Harris, Madelyn Nottingham, Cora Simms, and Veda McCloud.
Siblings– Three Sisters and one brother.
Dotty was preceded in death by Two husbands – Paul S. Keavy and Roy M. Winn. Very recently she was proceeded in death by Grandchild – Paul Keavy who was also a major part of Dotty’s caregiving team.
Special Thanks to other members of Dotty’s caregiving team over the past years: Debbie Bridger, Gracie Dodson, Pamela Bagina and Hospice employees.
Dotty’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a Loving, dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Dotty loved music and loved to sing and dance. She was also an avid gardener. She would work in her yard from sunup to sundown planting flowers, scrubs, weeding, etc. It gave her great pleasure and pride to maintain a beautiful yard. Dotty was a very nurturing person. She provided love, support and care to many of her children’s friends when they were in need.
Dotty will be greatly missed. She lived a long, fulfilling life.
Graveside Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021 at 11:00AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Chester, VA.
