Doug proudly served in the US Army and the Air Guard a total of 21 years and 8 months.
Doug was a member of the Dinwiddie Moose Lodge and was on the Old Dominion Moose Legion 148 Ritual Team. Doug was a baptized member of Sappony Baptist Church in Stony Creek, VA,, where he sang in the choir and participated in Bible School skits.
Doug was a retired Master Plumber, and the owner of Doug Price Entertainment and Karaoke. He had many fans, and fabulous singers. He was especially proud of his Mo-Town group with Steve, L.T. And Dennis, and enjoyed singing with his Moose brothers and sisters , Ruth Tate , Donna Stewart and his son, Donavan.
Doug was one of those special people who loved life and many people loved him as well.
If there was any word that described him, it would be FUN! Cancer did not beat him because he really LIVED his life. NO regrets and nothing left on his bucket list. HE wanted no tears but wanted his friends and family to remember the good times and he'd see them in Heaven. He didn't want a ceremony so in lieu of flowers he wanted to have memorials donated to the Old Dominion Moose Legion Ritual Team and Sappony Baptist Church.
A special thanks goes out to Clay Home Medical, Kindred Hospice, Southside Regional Hospital ICU Staff, our Sappony church family, Pastor Mike Dickey who came to our rescue a couple of times when Doug needed help, the Moose brothers and sisters , especially Jeryl Mann and Ray Bowles, who were regular visitors and Charlie Curtis and the Ritual Team for their support and prayers. God bless you all.
The family of Doug Price.
