Douglas “Doug” Clark Sprague, 63, of Prince George VA, went to be with the Lord on October 24, 2017. Born in Parkersburg, WV and spent life with his family in Hopewell and Prince George Va. He was the son of the late Wilbur Fredrick Sprague and Rose Ross Sprague-Stevenson. He was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather, and devoted many hours volunteering in his community with Jefferson Park Volunteer Fire Department. He served with the U.S. Army/Reserves for numerous years. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, but more than anything, he loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sprague was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Sue Sprague Kidd. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon Kay Sprague; Daughter, Catherine Lynn Campo (John); Daughter, Sandra Kay Givens (James); Daughter, Pamela Sue Swords (Eric); and son Christopher Clark Sprague (Rebecca), as well as eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry Joe Sprague; and a brother Gary Fredrick Sprague (Sammie). A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm November 4, 2017 at Prince George County High School with Reverend Roger Dean, officiating. Interment will follow at Appomattox Cemetery. Everyone is welcome to join the family at Carson Volunteer Fire Department Union Hall for a reception following the service. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday November 3, 2017 at J.T. Morris Funeral Home in Hopewell VA.
