Douglas Thomas Warthan

Douglas Thomas Warthan, 50, of Chester, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013. He was currently employed with VSP Technologies; and a member of Bermuda Hundred United Methodist Church. Mr. Warthan was also a former Scout Leader for Boy Scout Troop #922 in Enon. He was preceded in death by his mother, Angie C. Hardy. Mr. Warthan was a loving husband, dad, and son. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Sara J. Warthan; son, Alex J. Warthan; daughter, Ashley M. Warthan; father, Donald Warthan Sr. and his wife, Carol; step-father, Donald Hardy; brother, Donnie Warthan Jr., and his wife, Kathy; four sisters, Debbie Skinner and her husband, Gary, Darlene Dix and her husband, Wayne, Jenna Dennehy and husband, Mike, and Beckwith Warthan; numerous nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2013 at Bermuda Hundred United Methodist Church with the Rev. Elizabeth Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.
