D. Hayes

Dr. Edward Daniel Hayes, 66, of Claremont died Monday, July 24, 2006 at his residence. Dr. Hayes was a retired Lieutenant of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam Era, and was a retired Professor for Richard Bland College. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Coakley Hayes. Dr. Hayes is survived by his wife, Martha â??Martyâ? Ann Hayes of Claremont, VA, one daughter, Deirdre H. Sparger and her husband Kevin of Front Royal, VA, his father, Matthew Hayes, two grandchildren, Katherine Sparger and Rita Sparger, both of Front Royal, VA, two sisters, Rita Ann, and Barbara Jean, one brother, John Hayes, all of Florida and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, July 28, 2006 from 9:00 to 10:30AM in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 28, 2006 at 11:00 AM in St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Wiggins, pastor officiating. Interment will be private.
