M. Turner

Dr. William McNeil Turner, 89, formerly of Petersburg, died Tuesday, October 30, 2007 in Clinton, NC. Born in South Hill, VA, he was the son of the late William Marcellus and Susan McNeil Turner. Dr. Turner was a graduate of the Chicago College of Optometry and practiced in Petersburg for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret S. Turner. He is survived by his children, Margaret T. Walsh of Petersburg, Robert C. Turner of Murfreesboro, NC, Richard B. Turner of Fairfax, VA and William M. Turner, Jr. of Newton Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, November 1, at the Petersburg Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday at Southlawn Memorial Park with The Rev. David Teschner, Rector of Christ and Grace Episcopal Church officiating.
