Mrs. Drexel Dare Yancey Moseley, 82, of Hopewell, VA, departed this life on Friday, March 4, 2011 at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, Petersburg, VA. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Harriett Yancey of Mecklenburg County. Mrs. Moseley was preceded in death by her brother, James Wesley Yancey; and her sister, Gertrude Lingerfelt. She leaves to cherish her memory husband, Clarence L. Moseley, Sr. â??Jackâ?. They established a loving and devoted marriage for 64 years. Also surviving are their sons, Clarence L. Moseley, Jr. (Audrey) of Petersburg, Robert M. Moseley (Debbie) of Hopewell, and Michael L. Moseley of Hopewell; a sister, Bobbie Ann Deshaies (Roger) of Hopewell; a number of nieces and nephews; two step-grandchildren; and one step-great granddaughter. Mrs. Moseley was born on November 8, 1928 in Hopewell, and was a life-long resident of the city. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church, Hopewell, and was an active member in her church circle group â??Helping Handsâ?. Mrs. Moseley was employed at DuPont Elementary School in the cafeteria for many years. She was a long-time volunteer for Camp Happy Acres. Mrs. Moseley was a lover of animals, especially cats and one always had a secure place in her home. She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed listening to country music and taking trips to Nags Head, NC. Mrs. Moseley was the definition of the word Caregiver. Her life was full of love and devotion for her family and friends, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the staff at John Randolph Hospital, Southside Regional Medical Center and HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital for their care and concern during Mrs. Moseleyâ??s illness. The family will receive friends at the Hopewell chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home on Wednesday, March 9, at 11 a.m. Interment will take place in South Hill, VA.
