Earl Stuart Osborne, Jr.

Earl S. Osborne, Jr., 49, a resident of Dinwiddie County, Virginia, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023. Earl was a loving father, brother, uncle, and Papa. His family meant more to him than anything in this world, and he was a force of nature determined to provide for them and be there whenever they needed. Everyone that knew Earl felt his big heart and knew he was a giving, caring, and selfless soul who was only a phone call away. He was a huge fan of Duke basketball and Giants football. Earl loved all sports and was known as a devoted softball and football coach for many years. He supported all of his players on and off the field. Earl enjoyed riding his motorcycle, whether it was alone or with friends, and he called it his therapy. He also loved hunting and running dogs with his sons. His loss has impacted many and he will be greatly missed.

Earl is preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy & Delores Smithson; mother, Barbara A. Hammond; and stepfather, James Hammond. He is survived by his father, Earl Osborne Sr. (Shelia); five children, James Hawkins, Kelsie Osborne (LJ Stewart), Owen Osborne (Alexis Clyburn), Kaden Osborne, and Caleb Osborne; grandchildren, Izaiah White, Serenity, Sariyah, Jayden, and Ayden Stewart; sister, Stacy Lipford (Charles); brother, Michael Osborne (Allison Forelines); three nieces, Jessica Henshaw (Jonathan), Christina Lipford (Cory Berry), and Amanda Lipford (Dylan Gusti); two nephews, Dakota and Cameron Osborne; great-nephew, Carson Henshaw; great-niece, Emma Henshaw; cousins, Sherry Travis (Wayne) and their daughter, Mia Travis, Charles Osborne (Audra), James Osborne (Melissa), and William Long (Kimberly); his long time best friends, Bubba Turner and Luther Smith; and many other cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 12, 2023, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Dinwiddie Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, 6616 Boydton Plank Rd, Dinwiddie, VA 23803. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Monday, March 13, 2023, at the funeral home. There will be no graveside service, however, Stacy and Charles Lipford will receive friends and family at their home after the service.
